We have some specific perimeters that help keep us on course. Our DIRECTION revolves around five Biblical principles:
1. We were created and exist to WORSHIP God.
This is the number one priority of our church because it is the number one priority for our lives. We read in the Bible,
Give to the Lord the glory due unto His name. Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.Psalm 29:2
2. We exist to communicate God's Word through EVANGELISM.
The definition of evangelism is
sharing the good news. Jesus last words to His followers were,
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses.Acts 1:8
3. We exist to educate God's people through DISCIPLESHIP.
Discipleship means helping believers grow spiritually. The Bible tells us that
(God has given) some … to be evangelists, … pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.Eph 4:11
4. We exist to incorporate God's people into His family, which is FELLOWSHIP.
A New Testament church is a group of people committed to Jesus Christ and committed to each other - a caring community who worship, study and pray together. This is the pattern established for us in the Bible.
They were all together in one place ... They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.Acts. 2:1, 42
5. We exist to demonstrate God's love through MINISTRY.
Everyone has something very special to offer back to God. The Bible teaches,
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in it's various forms.1Pe 4:10 Every member is a minister and every task is important. The Demonstration of God's love is ministry.
