Thursday Afternoons@ Britten Grove Community Centre
Children aged 5-12 are invited to join in each week.
What happens each week? We start each week with our Club song, motto and Bible verse. Next, we sing Bible based songs that involve actions and jumping around! Kids love to move! We then have a Quiz and a Bible based story! And that is only the first 30 minutes... so we move fast!
For the next 20 minutes we have our PT or Personal Training Groups.
So what do they do in their PT Groups? The PT Group leader applies the Bible lesson (e.g. we've talked about Bullying, Keeping our Tongue from evil, Good Habits vs. Bad Habits), reviews a memory verse, teach a missionary story and sometimes the children will do a Christian Service project together (example - they made 'Thank You Cards' to give to parents, family or friends they were thankful for) and finally they pray together.
Then what? We always have a GAME TIME for the children. Each Club is themed with corresponding games.
Finally, we conclude by recognizing and rewarding the achievements of the children and a light snack!
What does it cost? There is no weekly dues. After a child attends for 3 weeks and becomes a “member”, there is a £10 cost for their Olympian Workbook. The £10 also includes their membership patch and other awards they can earn through the year. Parents will be informed well in advance if there are other costs for activities.
That's a lot of information - but we hope that explains what an Olympian Kidz Club is all about and parents are always welcome to accompany their children. Just let us know you are coming!
